NVIDIA has released the promised graphics driver for the Release Preview of Windows 8. This driver offers full support for the new Windows 8 display driver model WDDM 1.2 for NVIDIA Geforce and ION GPUs. You can download R302.80 from these links:
R302.80 is an OpenGL 4.2 drivers and compared to R301.24, R302.80 exposes 6 new OpenGL extensions giving a total of 275 GL extensions + 25 WGL extensions = 300 OpenGL extensions. The new extensions are:

Interesting, why is NVidia putting effort into supporting ES 1.1 on desktops? Developing for ES 2 on desktops is useful but ES 1 isn’t used so often anymore.
So maybe we will get ES as profiles for desktop OpenGL at siggraph (similar to core and compatibility) and NV wants to be ‘complete’ ? In this case this extension would be some kind of public beta for that functionality?
