SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6790 Pictured, Lower TDP

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6790

Here is one of the first pictures of the upcomming (April 5th 2011) new Radeon boards: SAPPHIRE’s Radeon HD 6790. And good news: the TDP is not so high. In this news, we said the TDP of the HD 6790 would be of 150W. This is wrong. The real TDP is near 115W which is more coherent with the TDP of other Barts-based Radeon cards (HD 6850 and HD 6870).

The HD 6790 has 800 shader processors (Barts LE GPU) clocked at 840MHz, and 1024MB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 1050MHz real speed.

Definitely sounds better than the 550Ti total failure but not sure if you’re not better off going with a 6850 or 6870 instead.
