H4shG3n 0.2.0 Simple Hash Code Generator (MD5, SHA1, SHA256) (updated: v0.3.2)

H4shG3n 0.2.0 Simple Hash Generator Utility - MD5, SHA1 and SHA256

Update (2019.10.03)
H4shG3n 0.3.2 has been released for Windows 64-bit, Linux 64-bit and Raspberry Pi (Raspbian Buster). Release notes is available HERE.

H4shG3n is a tiny hash code generator. Just drop any file in H4shG3n and it generates the following hash codes:
MD5
SHA-1
SHA-256

These 3 hash codes (also called checksum) are widely used on download websites. Thanks to the hash code, you can be sure that the software you have downloaded (from the original website or from a mirror) is identical to the original software. H4shG3n allows to make this step easier: once you have downloaded a file, just drop it in H4shG3n and you will see the MD5, SHA-1 and SHA-256 hash codes.

H4shG3n is not the fastest hash generator on the market, but can generate in around 7 seconds the three hash codes for a 620MB zip file (tested on a Core i7 7700K).

Since I use it for downloads at Geeks3D, I added a handy function: hash codes can becopied to Windows clipboard. So the copy / paste operation is faster and above all, it’s more reliable since a wrong copy from the hash generator is easier than we think…

This utility has been created with GeeXLab (version 0.27+) and coded in Lua. More information about the functions used in this application can be found HERE. The source code of H4shG3n is shipped with the application, I let you find where it’s hidden 😉
