2 – Overview

A new version of GPU Shark 2 is available for Windows (32 and 64-bit) and Linux (64-bit / x86-64). GPU Shark 2 is a monitoring and information utility for graphics cards. It can monitor the main hardware sensors (temperatures, usages, clock speeds, power) of the graphics hardware (GPU, VRAM) and offers an overview of the 3D APIs support level (OpenGL and Vulkan).

GPU Shark 2 is made with GeeXLab. The 64-bit version of GPU Shark 2 for Windows can monitor all modern GPUs (NVIDIA GeForce, AMD Radeon, Intel Arc and Moore Threads MTT S80/S70) while the Windows 32-bit version is limited to GeForce and Radeon GPUs only. On Linux, GPU monitoring is based on DRM (Direct Rendering Manager: it’s the Linux interface with modern GPUs) or NVIDIA smi (GeForce GPUs with NVIDIA drivers), depending on the graphics card and graphics drivers.

Main changes in GPU Shark 2.7:

  • new commercial names for recent graphics cards (GeForce RTX 50 Series and Radeon RX 9070 Series).
  • RTX 50 Series: the reading of VRAM temperature is back (disabled in v2.6) and hoptspot temperature is no longer supported with Blackwell GPUs.
  • RTX 50 Series: the number of missing ROPs is displayed.
  • RTX 50 Series on Linux: the number of ROPs is read from drivers when NVIDIA drivers are installed.

GPU Shark 2 on Windows: GeForce RTX 5070
GPU Shark 2.7 - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070
GPU Shark 2.7 - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 - monitoring

GPU Shark 2 on Linux: GeForce GTX 1070 + GTX 750
