Few days ago, I was watching the VIP Demoparty 2019 Invitation, released during the Revision 2019 demoparty when I noticed this minor detail in the description of the youtube video:
Made in Blender 2.8 Beta / EEVEE in 8 days
8 days! More or less a week to create this great real time demo. Really nice work!

But what are those 6 letters EEVEE ?
EEVEE stands for Extra Easy Virtual Environment Engine and is, in short, the new realtime render engine driving Blender’s realtime viewport for creating assets. EEVEE is a physically based realtime renderer:
Eevee is Blender’s realtime render engine built within Blender using OpenGL focused on speed and interactivity while achieving the goal of previewing PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials. It is designed to be a viewport engine but also offers high quality output for final render.
The final version of EEVEE and Blender 2.80 should be released in July 2019, according to this post.
